TECNO W3 Pro In-depth Specifications

TECNO W3 Pro

Design and Display

Unlike many other OEMs that do not modify the Pro versions of their devices, TECNO did make some changes with the design of the TECNO W3 Pro. Compared to its predecessor, the TECNO W3, the W3 Pro is more curved at the edges and the hard buttons at the side are more visible and bulge out more from the side.

As you know, TECNO’s W series was created for the budget smartphone market, so is the W3 Pro. Being the budget smartphone that it is, it doesn’t do much in terms of design. Its body is covered made from plastic material and is available in Champagne Gold, Black and White colours.

The TECNO W3 Pro comes with a 5.0 inches FWVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and 196 ppi pixel density.

Performance, Storage and Memory

On the W3 Pro, TECNO maintains the same mid-range system-on-a-chip it uses on the W3. The device uses a MediaTek MT6580 SoC which has a Quad-Core 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7 frequency. Also, the storage characteristics haven’t changed. The TECNO W3 Pro ships with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in memory.

With the W3 Pro, you can perform basic day-to-day smartphone activities like texting, reading, surfing the net, and maybe some light gaming flawlessly. But do not expect the device to handle heavy apps or games without heating up or lagging. It wasn’t for such.

It doesn’t do well with graphics either. Although one of the fastest graphics cores, the ARM Mali T400 GPU with Dual-cores may not really cut the mustard when it comes to handling graphics but will definitely do a decent job.

Camera

The TECNO W3 Pro runs a dual camera system. Actually, a twin camera system. On the rear, there is a 5-Megapixels sensor as the primary camera with a LED flash. On the flip side, there is also a 5-Megapixels sensor with a LED flashlight.

Some properties of the primary camera include Autofocus, Touch focus, Self Timer, White balance, Face detection, HDR, Continuous shooting, Geo-tagging and more.

Battery, Connectivity and Software

The TECNO W3 Pro comes with Dual (Micro) SIM port and only supports 2G and 3G networks with an HSPDA download speed of up to 21Mbps. No 4G/4G LTE. Only the TECNO W3 LTE has support for the 4G broadband.

The device runs on TECNO’s native HiOS (based on the Android Nougat v7.0 operating system) and a removable Lithium Polymer battery. No fast charge but the battery optimization of the Nougat OS can give you up to 10 hours of talk time with the 2,500mAH battery.

TECNO W3 Pro Price and Availability

The device’s pricing and availability status isn’t available yet but should be known in the coming days. However, since the difference isn’t many, it is expected to fall in the range of $55 (NGN 25,000 – 30,000) just like the TECNO W3.

Verdict

The TECNO W3 Pro is a successor to the TECNO W3 and the device comes with what you have read above, the device comes with pretty much the same features as its predecessor, save for the front camera and operating system that was improved. However, being a budget smartphone, nothing much was expected but it is exciting to see that despite releasing so many premium smartphones like the TECNO Camon CMore and TECNO Camon i, TECNO Mobile isn’t forgetting its low-end budget smartphones too.

The TECNO W3 Pro is a good device for maybe kids, the elderly and maybe people just starting off with Android. If you need an Android smartphone, and you have a low-budget cash-wise, the TECNO W3 Pro will be a good buy.
