[Live Stream] Tecno Camon CM Launch Event: First bezeless Tecno Smartphone

UPDATE 09/01/2018 6:30 PM: The Tecno Camon CM launch event has started and is currently ongoing at the Ikeja City Mall in Lagos. You can hop on a bus or Uber to the location if you have an invite, or live stream the event below.

Yes, it’s official now. Tecno Mobile just announced on its Facebook page that it’s launching the Tecno Camon CM on January 9, 2018. As it commonly is with releases like this, the announcement was not made directly by the company on Facebook; instead, a video depicting the upcoming smartphone smashing into a rock was put up on the Facebook Page. Check out the video below.

From the video, we can infer that Tecno Mobile is planning to launch a bezel-less smartphone with the name Tecno Camon CM on the 9th of January. Ironically, we predicted some days ago that launching a bezeless tecno smartphone would be the company’s next big thing based on posts on the same Facebook Page run by the company.

The first pointer to the Camon Cmore, as it’s also being called, was a Facebook post by Tecno Mobile two days ago with the concept photo of a bezel-less smartphone and the words “See More Camon CM January, 2018” printed on its centre.

Then about fifteen hours ago, another post emerged with the same words and a concept photo. The photo in this post was clearer, but it still doesn’t show what the real smartphone would look like when it’s released. Trust Tecno Mobile to keep the suspense up to the last moment.

As the name suggests, the Tecno Camon CM would be a successor to last year’s highly successful iterations of the Tecno Camon C series, the Camon CX and Camon CX Air.

Tecno Camon CM Leak

At this point, there is no information regarding the specifications of the smartphone, but we can make a few educated guesses based on previous releases. There are rumours that the Tecno Camon Cmore would come with a 5.6-inch display, and from the images available, it would be a FullView display. If this turns out to be true, the Camon CM would be Tecno’s first FullView smartphone.

Other specifications of the smartphone would be updated in this article as they become clearer. We’re looking forward to the official announcement of the device on the 9th of January, and trust me, we’re going to be reviewing the device here on Techyne. This is the slaughterhouse of tech, and mobile smartphones take the highest hit 😉 .

If there’s no bezels, how then do we listen to music?

      Hi FellaL,

Bezel-less is a marketing term meant to gain the attention of customers, and it doesn’t necessarily mean that the smartphone has no bezels at all; they are just very slim compared to what used to exist.

I have the Tecno Camon CM with me and I’m going to be posting the review soon, and you’ll understand by what we mean by bezel-less then.

      Thanks for dropping by.
