Why the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is the best budget Android smartphone at $109.99

Why the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is the best budget Android smartphone at $109.99

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is one of the most popular smartphones launched by Chinese smartphone and gadget manufacturer, Xiaomi in 2017. If you take a close look at the phone, it’s not hard to see why it became as popular as it currently is. The selling point of the device is one that matters the most to consumers who shop for tech gadgets: low price (when compared to other similar smartphones in the market) and decent specs, resulting in great value for money. Couple this with Xiaomi’s strong brand presence, and you’ll know why the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is the best budget Android smartphone.

When it was launched, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X retailed for around $152, but as is expected its price has reduced to around $123. I have a coupon that you can use to reduce its price to $109.99. At that price, the Redmi Note 4X is simply the best budget smartphone in the market at the moment.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X: Best budget Android smartphone

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Design

Full HD Display

Seeing a Full HD display on a smartphone described as budget is hard, if not impossible, but Xiaomi managed to pull it off with the Redmi Note 4X, as with many other Xiaomi smartphones. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X features a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD (1,080 x 1,920) pixel resolution, guaranteeing excellent colour reproduction and contrast ratios. My Vkworld Mix Plus with a 5.5-inch display and HD (720 x 1,280 pixels) resolution outputs clear pictures and text, so you can imagine what you’ll be getting on the Xiaomi smartphone.

Fingerprint sensor

Two years ago no one cared about having a fingerprint sensor on a mobile device, but things have changed drastically; I can’t imagine using a smartphone without a fingerprint scanner, and it’s the same for many out there. The Redmi Note 4X comes with a fingerprint scanner in a convenient position (rear of the device), allowing you to quickly unlock the phone and take selfies, amidst other functions.

Camera Quality

The main camera on the Redmi Note 4X is a 13-megapixel lens while its selfie snapper is a 5-megapixel camera. These might seem small on paper, but Xiaomi cameras are known to capture great images.

Battery

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X packs a 4100mAh battery, and that is more than enough to last you for up to two days, even on heavy usage. For a smartphone that retails at less than $110, this is just amazing.

MIUI 9 on Android 7.0 Nougat

Xiaomi’s custom ROM for its Android smartphones, MIUI is one of the most popular custom ROMS for Android available, and MIUI 9 is its latest version. It comes with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X and is built upon version 7.0 (Nougat) of the Android operating system.

With MIUI 9, you get unlimited custom themes, weekly software updates, customizable features and a possible upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo (I’m 95% sure the Redmi Note 4X will be updated to Android Oreo).
