Over the past couple of years, there has been an incredible upsurge in the amount of battery focused devices available in the smartphone market. These devices have been received with welcoming hands, attitude and spirits by several users. Most especially in this part of the world where power supply is ‘Gold’.
The Ulefone Power 3 was recently launched and albeit not available for purchase yet, pre-order demands for the device have been crazy. Knowing fully well that devices in the Power series of the Chinese OEM (Ulefone) are majorly always battery focused, seeing the Ulefone Power 3 gives the impression that the “Power Series” has been overhauled to house not just devices with the best battery backup, but devices with the best of everything.
Ulefone Power 3: Not 1, not 2, not 3…but 4 cameras!
The concluding months of 2017 saw many smartphone companies embed 4 cameras on their devices. Majorly 2 on the rear, and 2 up front. And this came at a time when many were still basking in the goodness of tri-camera smartphones. Lol. Funny how swift tech advances. Truth be told, we do not have many smartphones with four cameras (Quad-cameras) out there yet. Not many top brands even have three cameras on their smartphone, speak less of 4.
Point is, the Ulefone Power 3 featuring 4 cameras is awesome. Really cool, and trust me, the Quad-camera will go in providing the best image quality you have ever seen on a power focused smartphone. Personally, I have high hopes in the primary 13-megapixels and secondary 5-megapixels sensors put in charge of selfie duties on the front. And even higher hopes in the 21-megapixels and 5-megapixels lenses o the rear.
Long lasting battery. Dual Front cameras. Unlimited selfies.
The front camera comes with a wider lens aperture (f/2.2) and other features including soft light selfie flash and beauty mode.
Helio P23 Processor
While the processor comes with 8 Cortex-A53 cores, they also run at an incredibly fast speed! Think of how fluid processes and operations would run on a smartphone that clocks up to 2.5GHz! It would definitely be crazy-fast. I mean, that’s even more speed than what high-end flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6, LG V30 brought on board. Big-ups to Ulefone on this. Really!
Asides the fricking speed of the processor, anyone familiar with smartphone System-on-Chips shouldn’t be oblivious of the fact that the Helio P23 SoC by MediaTek is that chipset that is optimized for dual camera photography, 4G LTE support on dual SIM, and power efficiency. This confirms that surely, the Ulefone Power 3 isn’t just a device with a monster battery, the cameras are also “hot”.
RAM like no other!
The Ulefone Power 3 has a monster size RAM – 6GB. This is absolutely insane! To think the phone sells for less than $250 and has the kind of Random Access Memory that allows users multitask recklessly without limits. If you are a heavy smartphone user, or you are the type that enjoys playing heavy games that on your device without glitches or lag, the Ulefone Power 3 is the one for you. The monster battery capacity of the device is also a plus.
Game as long as you want!
18:9 Aspect ratio
Yet another trendy feature that would attract you to the Ulefone Power 3. You know how many brands made their devices taller and slimmer? Ulefone tried this on the Power 3, and the result, as you can see, is stunning – a beautiful and sleek piece of rectangular block.
The device isn’t anywhere near slim though (9.5mm thick), and it is understandable. There is a huge piece of battery in there.
3 Shades OF POWER!
Although the Ulefone Power 3 has about the same battery capacity as its predecessor, the Ulefone Power 2 (6,050 mAh), the non-removable 6,080mAh battery that comes with it can effortlessly provide more than 30 hours of web browsing/internet surfing time. Information regarding the overall charging duration of the device isn’t available but I’m guessing it should be between the 2-2.5 hours region.
Face ID!!!!!
Yes, the Ulefone Power 3 features the latest big thing in the smartphone world – the facial recognition unlock system. The Face ID on the mid-range battery-focused Ulefone Power 3 makes it so big of a deal. Trust me, this is that device you wanna try out.
Any device up to the match?
So far, with what Ulefone have offered on the Power 3, it makes it seem like the best battery focused smartphone at the moment. But is it?
Maybe, maybe not.
But there is this smartphone that does come close. Could even be better. The Oukitel K6 is also a battery focused smartphone with a dual camera on the front and back, Helio P23 SoC, 6.0-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 6GB of RAM and quite a lot of other similar specifications with the Ulefone Power 3. We’d be doing detailed comparisons on both devices later. We promise.
But for now, the Ulefone Power 3 seem like the (next) best battery focused smartphone ever manufactured. The #NextBigSteak!
The device is currently available on pre-order only and on GearBest, an $80 price cut awaits customers who pre-order before January 8, 2017.
