Meizu to announce Meizu LIVE headset, its most expensive headset yet for 15th Anniversary

Meizu to announce Meizu LIVE headset, its most expensive headset yet for 15th Anniversary

Meizu just revealed that it will be announcing a new flagship headset dubbed the Meizu LIVE headset to commemorate its 15 years anniversary. This was made known via an official announcement by the company on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo in the early hours of this morning.

Meizu LIVE headset launch announcement

The first Meizu headset, the Meizu MX was released in 2003, and fifteen years later (2018), the company is following up the series with the Meizu LIVE. In the company’s own words,

15 years ago, we started with a classic interpretation of music attitude, and 15 years later we’re following up with an innovative interpretation of the height of music.

Meizu’s current most expensive flagship headsets are the three Meizu Flow headphones that are priced at 599 Yuan, and this new flagship Meizu LIVE headset is expected to come in the range of more than a thousand yuan. This will make it the company’s most expensive headset ever.

Meizu LIVE headset launch

The Meizu LIVE headset isn’t the only device that Meizu is launching in 2018. The company will launch its new smartphone that is expected to be the Meizu M6S (Blue Charm S in China) on Thursday, the 4th of January, 2018. The phone is expected to come with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a fingerprint scanner on the side, 5.7-inch display and 2930mAh battery.

What is most surprising about the upcoming Meizu M6S is that it will be powered by a Samsung Exynos chipset, as I had no idea that Samsung allowed other smartphone manufacturers to use its Exynos processors. This might be the first, but every single detail will be clarified during the launch tomorrow.

It is possible that the Meizu LIVE headset will be launched alongside the Meizu M6S on the 4th of January. We’re looking forward to the launch event for these.

UPDATE 3/1/2018 8:40 A.M: Contrary to speculations that the Meizu LIVE headset will be launched on January 15, we’ve confirmed that the headset will be launched to commemorate the company’s 15th anniversary instead. The confusion was as a result of a misreading of the source in Chinese, and these details have been duly updated in the article.
